Project Update 08_30_2017

Summary

It was a bit of a subdued sprint on some fronts, as several team members (from both TTS and the State of Alaska) traveled to Baltimore for the annual Medicaid Enterprise Systems Conference (MESC). While on site for MESC, we had a number of important conversations with CMS officials, and were able to provide detailed updates on the status of our work together. We also learned from vendors working in this space about other challenges and opportunities they are seeing in other states.

In addition, we made progress in validating some of the key assumptions for our technical prototype, validating that we can securely and efficiently connect to the Alaska environment and query data sources from a cloud hosting environment.

Completed:

• Completed testing of connection between Azure cloud environment and on-premise SQL server inside AK network.
• Completed testing of connection between Azure cloud environment and existing ARIES environment.
• Completed an initial draft RFP for internal reviews. Plan to post a draft publicly in the coming weeks for industry feedback.
• Finalized UI requirements for vendors to be included in solicitation documents for initial procurement.

Upcoming:

• Finish work on technical prototype and commit code to project Github repo.
• Complete RFP and accompanying procurement documents, and post to project Github repo.
• Vendor outreach and issuing of RFP
