Overview
========

The Configuration Data Table (CDT) provides platform/device-dependent data such as platform ID, subtype, and version. Various software modules (drivers/firmware) use this information to perform dynamic detection and initialization of the platform.

Update CDT Binary
=================

Based on your reference kit, you need to rename the respective CDT file as ``cdt.bin`` in the flashable images path.

.. note::
The default Core Kit CDT is already set as ``cdt.bin``. Skip this step if your reference kit is the Core Kit.

Steps
=====

1. Navigate to Flashable Images Path
------------------------------------

.. code-block:: bash

cd <workspace_path>/build/tmp/deploy/images/<MACHINE>/<IMAGE>-<MACHINE>/

2. Identify Available CDT Files
-------------------------------

In this directory, you should see multiple CDT files. For example, for Kodiak RB3Gen2:

* ``rb3gen2-core-kit.bin``
* ``cdt_vision_kit.bin``
* ``cdt_industrial_kit.bin``

3. Copy the Appropriate CDT File
--------------------------------

Based on your reference kit, copy the corresponding CDT file as ``cdt.bin``:

For RB3Gen2 Vision Kit
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
.. code-block:: bash
cp cdt_vision_kit.bin cdt.bin
For RB3Gen2 Industrial Kit
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

.. code-block:: bash

cp cdt_industrial_kit.bin cdt.bin

For RB3Gen2 Core Kit
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
.. code-block:: bash
# No action needed - cdt.bin is already configured
Example Workflow
================
.. code-block:: bash
# Navigate to the images directory
cd ~/workspace/build/tmp/deploy/images/qcs6490/qcs-multimedia-image-qcs6490/
# List available CDT files
ls -l *.bin
# Copy the Vision Kit CDT (example)
cp cdt_vision_kit.bin cdt.bin
# Verify the copy
ls -l cdt.bin
.. important::
Ensure you select the correct CDT file that matches your hardware reference kit to avoid platform initialization issues.
