Other Extensions

In general, this extension "Plays nice" with other extensions and can be used with them. Users who desire granular control over scripts and requests, for instance, might install uMatrix. That is just fine. There are only a few cases where you should not use this extension along with others, or must be aware of side-effects.

Tested Extensions:

These extensions have been used extensively with this plugin and I don't think they leak extension ID's.

  • uMatrix: Tested to work within tabs created by the extension. What you "allow" a page to do can be a unique identifier, so it may advisable to keep your rules temporary if you are concerned about this as a fingerprinting vector.
  • uBlock Origin: Tested to work, no serious concerns.
  • Snowflake: Users who have both Snowflake and I2P in Private Browsing installed will have WebRTC Proxy Obedience enforced, but will not have the ability to disable WebRTC from the interface and the extension will not disable WebRTC as part of the preliminary adjustments, effectively keeping WebRTC enabled for Snowflake to use. The developers of this plugin support our good friends at Tor.
  • Privacy Badger: Tested to work, no serious concerns.
  • HTTPS Everywhere: Tested to work, but it can't help with I2P browsing because we have to use self-signed certificates.
  • Onion Browser Button: This is an Unofficial Tor browsing plugin for Firefox, please apprise yourself of it's use before using it. That said, it works seamlessly with this plugin.

Dangerous Extensions:

In some specific circumstances, certain faulty WebExtensions may leak their "Extension ID". Obviously, you should never use extensions that leak the UUID into pages that can be probed by external pages.

  • This one for instance seems to have the issue. It only applies to extensions which inject their extension-id into a readable location.

Extensions we may Break:

Some extensions have similar functionality to us, including FoxyProxy which has been popular with I2P users in the past.

  • FoxyProxy: Compatibility is partial. This extension will keep FoxyProxy's settings from using used for I2P sites, but otherwise FoxyProxy will continue to function normally. Compatibility with FoxyProxy as a proxy-setting tool is a goal.
