Agenda

  • 4 PRs, Release managers will discuss and get back to core.
  • Won't do a v2.0.3 until later in May.
  • Seems like no one is doing v3.0 testing or reporting back to MTT.
    • Only v3.0 results are being submitted by LLNL only on Cray.
  • Discussion about lack of focus on v3.0 branch.
  • What are folks impressions?
    • IBM want's v3.0 this summer (as currently planned)
    • Discussion that time based releases require sticking with schedule.
    • MUST have folks start contributing MTT testing.
  • Bad spike yesterday, new tests added, and need to wait for PRs for them to resolve.
  • PMIx v2.0 is off track, and may not be able to hit.
    • Last major piece needed (and needed ASAP) is the PMIx backwards compatibility.
  • Comm create quite slow, decision was to NOT bring in v3.0.
    • Release managers will get on phone and make a decision about this, and then roll a v2.1.1.
  • v3.0 Support items:
    • 64bit
    • MacOSX10.12
    • FreeBSD
    • Cisco MTT is going -m32 builds.
  • Ralph is trying to track all of these RTE changes. "How do we want to do this?"
    • If we break them up, then we might run into problems that things might be problematic.
      • Do you want to break them UP? More risky and more work, but bigger commit.
  • Jeff just found some PRs that weren't PRed to v3.0.
    • He had a to-do, from Master, but not sure if it went to other branches.
    • Nathan saw Jeff's PR, and pointed him at open PR (waiting on Jeff's review)
    • Neither apply to v2.0 or v2.x
    • Some one-sided things have happened.

  • When having discussion about a PR, please ONLY PR it to master, and only after the discussion has completed, PR that to other branches. Multiple PRs for "the same" content confuses the discussion.
  • Something slipped into Master recently, and Fortran Tests are failing.
    • PR will randomly fail as a result.
  • PR build checker does run a sanity test on 2 hosts.

MTT Dev status:

  • Made a change to ONLY allow Open MPI community members trigger build / test of PRs to prevent possible malicious commit PRs.

Exceptional topics

  • Request for folks to conclude discussion about PR2941

    • Jeff will refresh and comment on.
  • Face2Face -

    • As of right now Coppell only has two weeks available: June 27-29 and July 4-6
    • Biggest Yeses is July 11 - 13. Decision July 11-13
