Secondary Account Creation and Vehicle Activation (Desktop)

Precondition:

• Have access to a secondary email account
• Have your VIN number
• Mobile device

Steps:

1. Open Ford Webpage:

   • Navigate to https://www.ford.com/

2. Create a New Account:

   • Click on the Account icon in the top right of the screen
   • Click "Sign In"
   • Click on "Create an Account" option.
   • Provide a new email address (avoid using a "+") and proceed.

3. Email Verification:

   • Verify the provided email address within 2 hours.
   • During verification, provide your name and create a password for the new account.

4. Confirmation:

   • Confirm successful account creation.
   • Log in to your new Ford account using the created credentials.

5. Add Vehicle:

   • Click "Add a vehicle"
   • Enter the VIN number of your vehicle.
   • Click "Update"
   • Wait for the website to find your vehicle.

6. Mobile Activation:

   • If not installed; Download and Install the FordPass app on your mobile device.
   • Open the FordPass application.
   • Login with your new credentials.
   • Proceed through the prompts to activate your vehicle.
   • When prompted; Tap "Request Access" to request access from your main account.

7. Authorization:

   • Log in to your main FordPass account through the app.
   • Authorize your new account to access and control your vehicle.

Conclusion:

• You can now use this accounts credentials when setting up the FordPass Home Assistant integration
