The description of the alpha mode parameter for effects is wrong and is in fact opposite to what is actually the case. The Direct2D docs are correct. AlphaMode is always used to indicate the alpha mode of the input, and if premultiplied (the default), it is unpremultiplied before applying the effect then premultiplied again. I raised this before in #758, but the issue was rejected. However I am now confident that I am correct about this.
