Butterfly Registrator 1.0.1 Beta (macOS) Release Notes

For beta testing the macOS app of Butterfly Registrator on MacBooks and iMacs.

Warning

It may take a couple minutes for this app to open.

I'm looking into how to improve this in the future, but for now please be aware of this limitation. It should run smoothly once opened.

To run, it should be as simple as this:

• Download butterfly_registrator_v1.0.1-beta_macOS.app.zip
• In Finder:
  • Go to Downloads
  • If not already extracted, extract Butterfly Registrator.app from the ZIP
  • Drag Butterfly Registrator.app into Applications
  • Go to Applications (not Launchpad)
  • Control-click (right-click) on Butterfly Registrator, then click Open
  • A warning will likely pop up from Apple saying it can't be checked. Click Open anyway.
• In the future, you should be able to open Butterfly Registrator from Launchpad directly.

Butterfly Registrator 1.0 is its first public release with major updates from 0.1.
This release was tested on Python 3.6.

Highlights

• Improved support for high pixel density screens (4K monitors, Retina displays) and text scaling.
• Alphascale converter and merger.
• Undo/redo buttons for control points.
• Export/import to CSV control points and other registration metadata.
• Registered preview has sliding overlay with 33% and 66% opacity to make it easier to inspect the registered image with the reference.
• Refactored codebase with docstring documentation.
