Charting

Chris Jackson edited this page Jun 21, 2015 · 4 revisions

HABmin provides a flexible charting system for plotting historical data. Items can be plotted, and then the graph saved for later retrieval. Currently line and bar charts are available, and the chart allows extensive customisation.

Note that this is not linked in any way to the charts defined within an OpenHAB sitemap.

If you have not yet saved any charts, then you need to select the Items view in the chart screen. This is selected using the button on the top left of the window. Click this button and change the view to Items. You will then be presented with a list of items available within your OpenHAB server as is shown below.

This screenshot shows a few features of this screen. Namely the filter box which can be used to filter the items being displayed, and secondly the dropdown Tools menu that allows you to change the persistence service being used, and also to save a chart. When saving a chart, HABmin provides a lot of options to allow you to configure the charts to your desired look - eg an Items colour, line thickness, shading etc...

charting-editor Once a chart is saved, it can be recalled at the click of a button by clicking on the chart name in the chart list, or it can be placed into a dashboard with other widgets.
