A presentation of the running project Greek Inscriptions in Georgia. Online Catalogue funded by Rustaveli-Foundation – the National Scientific Foundation of Georgia.

There are several hundreds of Greek inscriptions and graffiti from the 6th century BC till modern times found/ preserved in Georgia. They are published in:

  • Tinatin Kauchtschischvili, Korpus der griechischen Inschriften in Georgien / Corpus of Greek Inscriptions in Georgia, Tbilisi 2009(3) (in Georgian, with German summary) and
  • Marika Nasidze, Greek Graffiti from Georgia, Tbilisi 2002 (in Georgian).

We are digitizing ca. 150 inscriptions and graffiti from 6th c. BC till 7th c. AD. After the project is completed, an electronic bilingual (Georgian-English) database of Greek inscriptions found in Georgia will be available for everyone.
