"The Bio"

Ryan got his start in web development through an online sales company based in Louisville, KY, his home of over 10 years. It was there that he nursed Ubercart through its infancy to its use on over 20,000 websites as the Project Lead and community face of the project.

Ryan joined Commerce Guys in 2009 and continued to lead Ubercart until branching out into Drupal Commerce, a new initiative focusing on empowering users to build e-commerce sites with the best new features that Drupal 7 has to offer. He focuses most of his time developing the code base, growing the community of contributors to the project, and training new users online and at community events.

Why am I RESTFesting?

I moved to Greenville, SC at the end of February 2012 and have been working hard to integrate into the city's already bustling tech community. There's a lot more going on here than I expected! Over the last several months, we've been revisiting code to turn a Drupal Commerce site into a REST API server to handle remote transactions and mobile app development. Our first pass at the code was "RESTish", but the second time around we're looking to nail it.

(i.e. I'm a newbie looking to level up; I might even bring my Amundsen tome for an autograph.)

Finding me online...

I'm primarily a Twitterer, but I lurk here on GitHub and LinkedIn. Our Drupal Commerce development is coordinated through our project page on drupal.org, and I pass out free candy and support in our IRC channel (rszrama in #drupal-commerce on freenode) and community website.

I occasionally blog at http://www.bywombats.com and a few places linked through there.

Slides I suck at slides, but we'll see what I can pull together.
