Chromatogram gaps percentage (missing scans)

Sadjad F Baygi edited this page Feb 26, 2023 · 4 revisions

In peak-picking analysis by automated pipelines, missing scans can result in falsely missing low-abundance peaks. When some chromatogram scans do not include the raw m/z values, broken peaks can be observed leading to inaccurate identification and quantification. To address this issue, the IDSL.IPA workflow includes an option to screen for low-abundance peaks based on this criterion, which helps to control false negative detections. This criterion can improve the sensitivity and specificity of the peak-picking analysis, particularly for complex samples with low-abundance peaks that may be missed using other tools.
