Ratio of peak width at half-height to peak width at balseline (RPW)

A threshold for RPW is helpful to remove false positive rectangular-shape peaks which are over-smoothed and pass other peak quality metrics. It is advised to use mixed alternative tightened and relaxed criteria for RPW and baseline S/N since both parameters represent the geometry of the peaks. The recommended range for RPW is <= 0.8 when baseline S/N threshold is not used for data reduction.

Example 1

For instance, this peak can be skipped with an RPW threshold. This is an example, where the baseline S/N threshold was slightly above the limit (>= 2) and this peak was detected when no RPW threshold was applied.

Example 2

This peak is an example of RPW measurement for a true positive peak.
