Peak smoothing

The smoothing window parameter depends on the scan rate of the mass spectrometer, and it should be adjusted by counting only MS1 scans. Smoothing windows generally should be between 1-2 times the peak width of a peak of interest. Higher peak smoothing windows may merge adjacent peaks, and smaller windows can not mitigate peak jaggedness adequately.
