  • 13:32 <demory> hi folks. my internet connection is suddenly flaking on me so i may have intermittent connectivity today
  • 13:33 <demory> are we waiting for anyone? Frank perhaps?
  • 13:34 <mele> not sure what he's up to
  • 13:35 <novalis_dt> Nothing to report here.
  • 13:36 <demory> my update -- still focused on the TriMet work, thanks Grant for the detailed feedback this week. should have another iteration to share by tomorrow
  • 13:36 <grant_h> no problem!
  • 13:37 <demory> i'll also provide responses to the specific questions you asked in the email
  • 13:37 <grant_h> sounds good
  • 13:39 <demory> abyrd, you around? Perhaps we can talk about the release schedule
  • 13:41 <demory> hmm, he may not be on. let's hold off on the release discussion then
  • 13:42 <demory> oh, grant_h, one question for you -- do you all run the OneBusAway API in addition to OTP (and if so could the calltaker module access it?)
  • 13:43 <demory> I ask because some of the schedule-viewing functionality we've discussed might be better served by OBA than OTP
  • 13:43 <novalis_dt> I think it would be nice to extend OTP to include that stuff
  • 13:43 <novalis_dt> Because OBA is kind of a big hassle to get running
  • 13:44 <novalis_dt> Like, I recently tried to get it working to do some BusTime testing and ran into a nightmare of dependency insanity
  • 13:44 <novalis_dt> Ultimately Camsys had to set up a VM for me.
  • 13:44 <novalis_dt> And I'm not totally stupid about Java dependency stuff
  • 13:44 <grant_h> demory: Not sure, I'll ask Frank
  • 13:44 <novalis_dt> (just a little stupid)
  • 13:44 <demory> yeah, the TransitIndex API is a definitely a step in that direction, but I don't that it provides everything we'd need right now
  • 13:45 <demory> novalis_dt, I agree about OBA being a big hassle. ideally it should be avoided for OTP setups
  • 13:45 -!- mattwigway [~[email protected]] has joined #opentripplanner
  • 13:46 <demory> I may be able to get by w/ stopTimesForTrip for now, let me do some experimenting
  • 13:47 <novalis_dt> If you do need something added, email me and I'll try to find some time.
  • 13:47 <demory> sure, thanks. I may have time to work on the TransitIndex API myself too. I'd like to get to know that part of the code better anyway
  • 13:49 <demory> well, anything else for today?
  • 13:50 <demory> also, should we plan on a chat next Thurs (the 27th)? I'll be around..
  • 13:50 -!- mattwigway [~[email protected]] has quit [Ping timeout: 265 seconds]
  • 13:50 <mele> I'll be around as well
  • 13:50 <mele> nothing for today though
  • 13:51 <demory> ok, let's plan on a quick check in then
  • 13:52 <demory> guess that's it for today
  • 13:53 <demory> have a good week everyone!
