Bill of Materials (12 Bit Extender)
This page lists the parts needed by the 12 bit Extender board for use with the 12 bit main board (by IanB)
The 12 bit boards have the same 8 bit header as the earlier 8 bit boards with the extra 4 bits on another header as there isn't enough room for the full 12 bit header so the extender consolidates this and brings all 12 bits, sync and power outside the case on a single connector. This is only required for computers that have to pick up all 12 bits internally.

Part Description | Supplier | Quantity | Part Ref | Min Order | Notes |
---|---|---|---|---|---|
Schottky diode MBR130LSFT1G | Farnell 2463407 | 1 off | D1 | 5 | SOD-123FL package. Alternatively bypass using the solder bridge JP5 |
Samtec SSW-106-02-T-D-RA 2x6 way 0.1" female right angle PCB Header | Farnell 2779580 | 1 off | P1 | 1 | |
Samtec TLW-104-06-T-S 1x4 way male header | RS 198-2815 | 1 off | P2 | 1 | Long side of pins goes in PCB |
Samtec TLW-101-06-T-S 1x1 way male header | RS 198-2806 | 2 off | P6, P7 | 1 | P6 & P7 should be trimmed flush with the plastic to act as support/spacers (see photo) |
16 Way IDC header (vertical) | Farnell 1554029 | 1 off | P4 | 1 |
The cable assembly will vary with each board and will require a matching IDC connector and ribbon cable plus an appropriate connector for the computer.
Note after trimming their pins as mentioned above, P6 and P7 act as feet and rest on top of the Pi zero's camera connector to stop P2 on the board from falling out of its socket if you push down on the external connector which might result in the bottom of the board shorting against components on the Pi zero.
