The goal for this meeting was to jointly examine Sophie's sketches and prioritize their development in the different prototypes. On top of that we discussed several other ideas/interactions.

Topics

  • Priority List - see below
  • Raimund identifies two different kind of menus:
  • global --> can be activated from any border of the frame
  • contextual menu --> attached to a location on the physical document (can be activated by holding down the finger or by a two-finger-gesture)
  • The tabletop prototype, will be a place to test different interaction techniques for a particular feature
  • Show an indication of which tool is active at the moment
  • We should take into account the fat finger and occlusion problems (for highlighting/annotation tasks) - read: Shift by Baudish and MicroRolls by Roudaut.
  • Ghost rectangle for the highlight - requires knowing the content (content to pixel mapping)
  • short cut gestures e.g. to select a picture
  • We should consider adding an "opacity slider" which turns digital content more or less opaque.
  • Discuss on the paper the usability of turning the screen opaque totally for some interaction techniques
  • Shake the tPad for deleting stuff or use a stroking gesture
  • Flipp the tPad to switch between reading mode and annotation mode, to collapse comments or to show a canvas
  • Moveable comments: the comment box could be re-organized
  • Navigation: change that menu for thumbnails of each page
  • the annotation bar/search bar might be misleading (the user acts with a physical paper than a scrollable PDF)
  • Enable fluid animations: e.g.: The comment box moves to the keyboard if the user uses the keyboard to edit a comment. Afterwards the comment moves back to its origin.

### Tasks

  • Wolfgang checks with Ulrike what are the considerations for working on the MS Surface 2.0.
  • Juan checks the PDF libraries and the possibility of content-to-pixel mapping.
