Understand what the interviewer is asking for by using test cases and questions about the problem.
- Will the list always contain only numbers?
- Yes.
- Can the list be empty?
- Yes.
Plan the solution with appropriate visualizations and pseudocode.
General Idea: Loop through a list, and generate a new list containing the double of each element.
1) Create a function with parameters for the list
2) Make an empty list to store the results
3) Loop through the input list
a) Double the element
b) Add the double to the results list
4) Return the results list
def doubled(lst):
result = []
for num in lst:
result.append(num * 2)
return result
