You can now access most KeeFox functionality without using your mouse by pressing one of the new KeeFox keyboard shortcuts. Since nearly all combinations of shortcuts containing letters are already in use by Firefox, the KeeFox shortcut keys will default to using the numbers 1 to 6, to represent the top to bottom order of the main features on the KeeFox panel.

You can see and change the shortcuts in the KeeFox options panel, look in the "Commands" tab.

For windows users, these are the default settings:

Ctrl - shift - 1: Activate KeeFox main panel, allowing fast keyword searching.

Ctrl - shift - 2: Activate KeeFox main function (depends on current page and KeePass state but it generally allows you to login to your KeePass database or fill in the login form on the current page.

Ctrl - shift - 3: Activate KeeFox logins menu.

Ctrl - shift - 4: Generate new password.

Ctrl - shift - 5: Change database.

Ctrl - shift - 6: Re-detect forms on current page.

Once a menu is active, you can navigate it using the arrow buttons on your keyboard and the enter key.

If you want to close a menu, just press the left arrow.

To close the entire KeeFox panel, press escape.

Note that there are a few bugs relating to keyboard navigation at the moment, primarily because Firefox does not support the features required to make this a seamless experience.

You shouldn't find anything too problematic provided that you always keep the KeeFox button on the main Firefox toolbar (i.e. don't hide it away in the Firefox main menu).

OLD INFORMATION

The information in this Wiki is out of date.

It is only of interest if you are using the old add-on called KeeFox in a very old (insecure) version of Firefox or other browsers based on the old Firefox XUL technology.

Read the manual for Kee and KeeBird instead.
