The test routine for KeeFox currently includes working through the installation process and getting started tutorial on several different builds of Windows. There are other less structured tests that get performed sporadically, particularly when changes have been made in relevant parts of KeeFox functionality but for the most part there is no thorough procedure in place that can guarantee a lack of bugs or regression.

If you are able to help test KeeFox to reduce the chance of stability problems please add your test plan to a new page in this manual and put it to work on the current development/beta version of KeeFox.

Ideally we'd like an automated test suite using something like Selenium or MozMill but we've not had time to look into this much yet. See: issue #143

If we can come up with a reliable test procedure we can consider performing the tests at an earlier stage (e.g. at the same time the translators are preparing the add-on for a beta release).

Feel free to get in touch on the forum if you are interested in helping with testing whether you are an experienced software tester or an amateur keen to learn more.

OLD INFORMATION

The information in this Wiki is out of date.

It is only of interest if you are using the old add-on called KeeFox in a very old (insecure) version of Firefox or other browsers based on the old Firefox XUL technology.

Read the manual for Kee and KeeBird instead.
