en | Tips | Login Menu Left Click

Chris Tomlinson edited this page Sep 2, 2015 · 4 revisions

Left-click on an entry in the logins list to load a web page in the current tab and auto submit a login with just one click.

The Logins menu contains all KeePass entries that have a URL. You can use it to quickly log in to a website; when you press the left button of your mouse on an entry within the menu KeeFox will open the URL associated with that entry into the current tab and automatically fill and submit the login details stored within the entry.

There is a Firefox bug which may prevent this from working. If you find it is unreliable in your version of Firefox, wait for Mozilla to fix the Firefox bug and in the mean-time you can open the login in a new tab by middle-clicking or holding down the Ctrl key while left-clicking.

More detail and an updated status for the bug can be found here: https://github.com/luckyrat/KeeFox/issues/419

WARNING!

OLD INFORMATION

The information in this Wiki is out of date.

It is only of interest if you are using the old add-on called KeeFox in a very old (insecure) version of Firefox or other browsers based on the old Firefox XUL technology.

Read the manual for Kee and KeeBird instead.
