Notes

The group continued its discussion reviewing derived testing requirements against the cmi5 spec to determine if related spec changes are necessary.

  1. Review Derived Requirements (CATAPULT JSON)
  2. Determine if spec corrections/clarifications/defects are required
  3. Add Reference to Testing Requirements in spec

The group reviewed the CATAPULT derived requirements JSON - See Excel Spreadsheet

Topics/Questions raised during the review:

14.1.0.0-4 (d) The LMS must reject zip course packages that do not use fully qualified URLs for media not included in the package.

  • Spec change not necessary - Still up for discussion.

  • It seems reasonable to have the Test Suite test fully qualified URLs for AUs and reject if it cannot resolve them BECAUSE if the Test Suite is being run for the purposes of making sure an LMS can reject its own packages that could, but do not access the resolution point of a fully-qualified URL, then we want it to do, but if the Test Suite is being run for the sole purpose of accepting/rejecting a course package, then it SHOULD NOT reject a package for the fully-qualified reason BECAUSE it may not representative of the actual LMS environment in which it would be deployed. It would actually not accept the package, either. Short version - do not keep this Test Suite requirement.

  • Consider separate sides - CTS would be run for the sole purpose of accepting/rejecting a package. LTS - could have exceptions as well - smart card.

  • Media in zip package -- must use relative URL references to media-- Test suite should always be able resolve these Media not in zip package -- must use fully qualified  URLs -- Test suite may or may not be able resolve these - we did address this by the entry AU only. This would be a nice to have feature - Warnings, etc.
